Catoo achieved outstanding results in ridden classes and won the 2010 Schlieckau stallion performance test outperforming 48 other entrants and obtaining an excellent score of 141.69 index points.
Under his rider and trainer Markus von Holdt, Catoo became 4-year-old Stallion Riding Horse Champion at the 2011 Warendorf Bundeschampionat – an exceptional achievement for the Holsteiner breeding programme with Catoo the first ever Holsteiner to win this title. The test riders awarded the stallion brilliant rideability scores (9.0 and 10.0).
At 5- and 6-year-old, Catoo qualified for the Warendorf Bundeschampionat with top marks. Catoo’s training under Markus von Holdt has been continued and he proved a success at his first outings at S level with several St.Georg Spezial placings during the 2015 season, for example the Nürnberg Burg Pokal qualifier at Balve.
In 2016, Catoo’s achievements under his owner-rider Rainer Schwiebert include a 2nd place in a dressage class at S**- intermediaire I level in Ankum scoring 69.518%. Ridden by Otto Becker Catoo’s sire Con Air won the Hachenburg Grand Prix and was part of the winning team at the Madrid Nations Cup final in 2008. Under his new owner Jose Larocca (Argentina), Con Air successfully competed at the Kentucky World Equestrian Games in 2010.
Catoo’s dam, state premium mare Flair, is 2nd dam to Canto, the 2004 champion stallion. From his first crop, Catoos Son was stallion licensed and sold to an internationally successful dressage rider at Neumünster. Another Catoo son, Can Jump, sold to Australia at 46,500 euros through the Neumünster elite riding horse auction and another talented Catoo offspring, Cedric, was knocked down to the UK through the 2016 spring auction. Champagner, a licensed stallion by Catoo, attracted attention at the 2016 National Championships in Warendorf as he became 5-year-old Dressage Horse Vice Champion under Claudia Rüscher, scoring 9.0 for trot, canter, obedience and overall impression.
Catoo was sold to the Schwiebert family’s Helenenhof stud in 2014. In the mean time, Catoo has also been approved for the Hanover and Oldenburg breeding programme.
